What you can Expect_

Northwest Montana is full of natural wonders. But what we have been missing is the wonderful sound of bluegrass music. We changed that with our 2nd Annual Top of the Swan Bluegrass Camp and Jam.

Ferndale is located 6 miles east of the largest freshwater lake this side of the Mississippi River, Flathead Lake. Nestled at the foot of the Swan Mountain range at the top of the Swan Valley, it is the perfect place for a gathering of like-minded musicians who find sitting around a campfire picking and grinning with friends, and even strangers, time well spent.

This is a planned three-day event featuring a few notable bluegrass bands, local vendors selling Montana made wares, and food trucks on a 10-acre tract of land hosted by the A-Bar, one of the best destination restaurant/casino bars in the Flathead area.

Our first event last September hit us with an unexpected onslaught of participants and visitors. The amount of cars and trucks snarled up our only access to the camping area. Live and Learn.. This time around we played to have traffic control in place to avoid that issue. it is dry camping  (no hookups, running water will be available) and camping spots is on a first come first served basis. There is no cost for the participating the camp and jam, but donations are always appreciated…

Stay tuned to this website for further updates and concert information. A “Musician's Spotlight” is scheduled for Saturday afternoon for 1 to 6 pm. Time available per performer or ensemble will be determined by how many signups there are. Email or call to sign up for a slot..

Sunday_ Banjos and Biscuits…A pot luck breakfast among all the campers is planned with a final round of picking and grinning as we say farewell to all and look forward to Top of the Swan II.

We are looking forward to presenting our kind of music to the Flathead valley and know the locals will turn out to hear and participate.
